New Delhi:
A day after several exit polls gave the RJD-led opposition alliance in Bihar an advantage over the ruling NDA, Congress leader P Chidambaram said on Sunday that the people of the state would send a clear message that she was more concerned with issues such as jobs, food, health and inflation.
Several polls on Saturday’s exit gave the RJD-led opposition alliance in Bihar an advantage over the ruling NDA, while at least three predicted a clear majority for the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ ‘who projected Tejashwi Yadav as his main ministerial face.
Most exit polls also predicted that RJD would again emerge as the largest party in the 243-member assembly, with a sharp drop in the number of seats for Bihar Chief Minister JD (U) led by Nitish Kumar.
“Mr. Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) believes he can win all elections over Hindutva, Ram Temple, Pulwama, repeal Art 370, CAA, and call every opposition party and opposition leader anti-national, ”Chidambaram said.
“I believe the people of Bihar will send a clear message that they are more concerned about jobs, food, health care, inflation, fair prices for farmers, infrastructure and industrial development. Will the Prime Minister hear their voices? ” he said in a series of tweets.
Claiming that the Indian nation is as “divided as the United States”, Chidambaram said President-elect Joe Biden’s acceptance speech was the kind of speech “we want to hear from every Indian prime minister”.
The counting of the votes for the three-phase ballot in Bihar’s assembly, which ended on Saturday, will take place on November 10.
