Washington:
More than 50 million Americans voted early in the White House race between U.S. President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, a poll monitoring group said on Friday.
Voters are breaking records for voting before election day on November 3 to avoid crowded polling stations and long lines for fear of catching the coronavirus.
According to the tally from the US Elections Project, run by the University of Florida, more than 35 million people have now voted by mail and more than 15 million in person by leaving their ballots in designated ballot boxes.
