The number of deaths caused by the new coronavirus virus worldwide has exceeded 475,000, according to an AFP count of official sources at 06:25 GMT Wednesday.
The number of deaths has doubled in less than two months and a total of 477,117 deaths have been recorded in 9,263,743 cases worldwide.
Europe remains the most affected region with 193,800 deaths out of 2,557,761 cases, but the pandemic is spreading rapidly through Latin America where 100,378 have died from 2,163,835 cases.
