Coronavirus cases, India: Of the total cases, 14,894 patients died.

New Delhi:

India recorded its largest increase in the number of coronavirus cases in 24 hours for the second consecutive day with 16,922 new patients, bringing the total to 4.73 lakh of cases, said the Ministry of Health. Union this morning.

It is the first time that more than 16,000 new infections have been reported in a single day. The government reported a one-day high of 15,968 new infections on Wednesday.

Of the total cases, 2.71,697 patients recovered; 14,894 have died so far. In the past 24 hours, 418 deaths from the highly infectious disease have been recorded. The recovery rate stood at 57.42% this morning.

India is the fourth most affected country in the world by the pandemic after the United States, Brazil and Russia.
