New Delhi:
A contingent of three majestic Indian Army services traveled the wide road from Red Square to Moscow as Russia celebrated Victory Day to mark the end of World War II in 1945. India, made up of 75 members in their bright and neat uniforms, is seen on visuals marching on Red Square alongside soldiers from 11 countries, including China.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was one of the distinguished guests at the event in Russia. A mask around his neck for safety in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Mr. Rajnath posted a photo in an elegant white kurta with a black half-jacket, watching the parade from a distance.
“Attend the Victory Day parade in Red Square in Moscow today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the great patriotic war of 1941-1945. I am proud that a contingent of the three services of the Indian Armed Forces is also participating in this parade, “tweeted Mr. Singh.

Singh is in Moscow for a three-day visit at the invitation of the Russian Defense Ministry to attend the 75th Victory Day Parade.
“The impressive participation of the contingent of the three Indian armed forces services in the Victory Day parade in Moscow is indeed an extremely proud and happy moment for me,” tweeted Mr. Singh.
Russia postponed the military parade, which traditionally takes place in Moscow’s Red Square on May 9, for a month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that on June 24, 1945, a massive parade of “winners” took place in honor of soldiers who fought for Moscow, defended Leningrad, liberated Europe and stormed Berlin during the last days of World War II.
Singh is the first Union minister to visit abroad in four months, as international travel has been limited due to the pandemic.
His visit to Russia also comes amid tensions between India and China along the real line of control or LAC.
