New Delhi:
Union Minister for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Sunday at a virtual rally in Purnea, Bihar, denounced Congress and RJD for spreading rumors that all is well within the NDA and declared that the ruling alliance was in order and “will fight together the next assembly elections in Bihar”.
Mr. Rai’s reaction came after Congressman Rajya Sabha Akhilesh Prasad Singh, in a videoconference meeting with party leader Rahul Gandhi, said that Ram Vilas Paswan was in contact with him and that the top command did not give time to meet and discuss the possible alliance.
After this assertion, the political atmosphere in Bihar has warmed and it has been said that the LJP could leave NDA before the assembly ballot in Bihar.
Union Minister Rai said, “I want to tell the leaders of the RJD and Congress that they shouldn’t be spreading rumors and worried about their grand alliance. There is no split in the NDA , we are one and we will jointly challenge the elections and repeat the election performance of the 2010 Assembly in 2020. “
“We will not only perform well in the next state assembly elections but also we will win more than 220 seats and once again the NDA government will be formed in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar” added Mr. Rai.
The Minister further attacked the RJD and asked a question that Lalu Prasad Yadav once said that “we will not compromise with Congress”, but contrary to the promise made with Jaiprakash Narayan, the RJD went to sit on the knees of Congress. “The people of Bihar will not forgive RJD for such a betrayal with Jaiprakash Narayan,” he added.
Bihar Assembly polls are expected to take place in November. The State Legislative Assembly has 243 seats where the BJP is in power with its NDA ally Janata Dal (United) and the Lok Janshakti party.
