Washington, United States:

NASA’s robotic spacecraft Osiris-Rex landed on the rock-strewn surface of Asteroid Bennu on Tuesday, landing for seconds to collect rock and dust samples in a 330 million precision operation kilometers from Earth.

“Touchdown confirmed,” said a NASA announcer at 6:12 p.m. (10:12 p.m. GMT). The actual event happened about 18.5 minutes earlier, but it took that long for the confirmation signals to be sent back to mission control on our planet.
