New Delhi:
After the government asked Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved to stop advertising the drugs he launched yesterday as “coronavirus treatments” until they are reviewed, the Union Minister Shripad Naik said it was a “good thing” that the yoga teacher had given the country a new medicine but that he needed proper authorization from his Ayush ministry. Patanjali only sent medication documents yesterday to the ministry, he confirmed.
“It is good that Baba Ramdev has given the country a new medicine, but according to the rules, he must first come to Ayush’s ministry. They even said that they had sent a report. We will review and authorize will be given after seeing the report, “said Shripad Naik.
“Anyone can make medicine. Anyone who wants to make medicine has to go through the Ayush ministry working group. Everyone has to send the research details to Ayush ministry for confirmation. That’s the rule and nobody can advertise its products without it, “said the Minister.
Yesterday, hours after the high-profile launch of Patanjali, the ministry asked for details about the so-called coronavirus healing kit and the trials it claimed to have carried out.
The drugs, “Coronil and Swasari”, come in a Corona kit at the price of Rs 545, which was to be sold across India within a week.
The ministry of Ayush asked Patanjali to provide details such as the composition of the drugs, the results of its research, the hospitals where the research was carried out, if the company had obtained the authorization of the institutional ethics committee. and if she had enrolled in clinical trials. .
While many countries and scientists continue to search for possible COVID-19 vaccines, there is no scientific evidence for an alternative treatment for the deadly virus.
Ramdev said that Patanjali’s drugs had given “100% favorable results” in clinical trials on 280 patients in Delhi, Ahmedabad and other cities. Patanjali collaborated with the National Private Institute of Medical Sciences or the NIMS University of Jaipur.
“With the help of NIMS, Jaipur, we conducted the clinical control study on 95 patients. The biggest thing that came out was that within three days, 69% of the patients recovered and became negative for positive (cases) and within seven days 100 percent of them became negative, “Ramdev told reporters.
