Aarya marks the return of Sushmita Sen after five years – she was last seen in the 2015 Bengali film Nirbaak. Talking about her comeback streak and why she focused on Aarya after an extended wait for something worthwhile. Sushmita told PTI news agency“By the grace of God, I got the most beautiful and incredible content, a fantastic platform, Hotstar. For me, this highlight of all that is happening is because I gave it time , I gave everything to wait. I said I would sit at home, but when I do something, it’s worth it. And I can say it proudly now. “
Directed by Ram Madhvani, Aarya is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza. Sushmita Sen plays the lead role in the series, Aarya Sareen, who takes over her family’s pharmaceutical business, the opium plantation and the drug warehouse after the death of her husband. Co-produced by Ram Madhvani and Endemol Shine India, Aarya open to lukewarm critics of film critics after its release on Hotstar on June 19.
