Strong points

  • Manoj Bajpayee plays a detective in the movie
  • Fatima Sana Shaikh plays her sister
  • Diljit described his character as the “most eligible bachelor”

New Delhi:

Diljit Dosanjh shared the trailer for his new movie Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari On Wednesday and in doing so, he described his character Suraj as “India’s most eligible bachelor”. Within minutes of the trailer starting, the “Most Eligible Bachelor” tag is what Suraj Singh Dhillon assigned himself because he’s far from it. The trailer features Suraj as the heir to his father’s dairy business, which leaves room for some bizarre dialogue, which appears to be forced attempts to infuse humor. Suraj is on the hunt for a life partner and just as his wedding date is about to be set, his in-laws are handed photos of him drinking.

Between Manoj Bajpayee and the trailer comes to life. Manoj Bajpayee is the titular Mangal of the second half of the film’s name. He is a local detective, who checks the backgrounds of the bride and groom and takes great pleasure in playing a decisive role in the annulment of marriages. Suraj, determined to take revenge, begins dating Mangal’s sister played by Fatima Sana Shaikh. Madhu Mangal Rane loses his temper when he realizes Suraj’s evil plans and attempts to marry his sister to someone else.

Manoj Bajpayee, as the still angry and bitter detective, clearly eclipses Diljit Dosanjh throughout the trailer. The film’s cast also includes names like Annu Kapoor, Shriya Pilgaokar, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Karishma Tanna, and Abhishek Banerjee, among others.
