TV actor Anupam Shyam, who is best known for playing the role of Thakur Sajjan Singh on the show Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, is in the ICU (intensive care unit) of Mumbai’s Lifeline Hospital for dialysis, PTI News Agency reported. The 62-year-old actor’s family, who has worked in several popular TV series and movies, have asked friends in the entertainment industry to provide financial assistance for his treatment, PTI reported. The actor’s brother Anurag told PTI that Anupam was initially on dialysis at Apex Kidney Care in Mumbai. However, after collapsing during dialysis, he was transferred to Lifeline Hospital. “As we couldn’t admit it there, we immediately rushed him to Lifeline Hospital. He is currently in intensive care,” Anurag told PTI.

The actor has appeared in films such as Dastak, Dushman, Zakhm, Kachche Dhaage, Paap, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Golmaal, Halla Bol and Wanted to, among many others. He also worked in several critically acclaimed films such as Parzania, Bandit Queen, Lagaan, Dil Se, Nayak: the real hero, as well as in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
