Jaipur:

A local court on Tuesday sent a defendant arrested for espionage to Barmer in Rajasthan for six days in police custody.

Defendant Roshan Deen was arrested on charges of espionage for Pakistan in the international border area last week.

The police brought him to the Metropolitan Special Magistrate’s Court where he was taken into police custody for six days.

Additional Director General (Police Intelligence) Umesh Mishra said that after questioning by joint agencies, the accused was arrested engaged in espionage activities for Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI ) from Pakistan instead of money.

He said a further investigation was underway to obtain funds instead of strategic information.
