New Delhi:
On Friday, a 22-year-old man reportedly committed suicide at AIIMS while hanging from a staircase grill, police said.
The man was identified as Bittu Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar, they said.
At 6:16 am, police received emergency suicide information from the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), said a senior police officer.
Tiwari committed suicide while hanging from the grill of a staircase on the second floor, police said.
“Tiwari was admitted to AIIMS on May 25 for the treatment of blood clotting,” said Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Atul Kumar Thakur.
The reason for his extreme approach has not yet been established.
Tiwari’s mother and sister are already in the hospital. The body will be returned to his family after the autopsy, police said.
