The determination of a 15-year-old girl to continue her studies by cycling 24 km every day to and from her school in a village in Madhya Pradesh has paid off since she obtained 98.75% marks for his class 10 exams.

Roshani Bhadoriya, encouraged by her grades, is now aiming higher and wishes to pursue a career in the public service.

The girl’s father, a farmer, said he was proud of her success and that he would now organize transportation so that she could go to school.

The teenager, a resident of the village of Ajnol in the district of Bhind, in the Chambal region, obtained 98.75% and the 8th place in the merit list of class 10 exams of the Council for Secondary Education Madhya Pradesh, whose results were announced on Saturday.

Her father Purushottam Bhadoriya told PTI that until grade 8, her daughter studied at another school where buses were available.

But after that, she moved to a public school in Mehgaon, located about 12 km from Ajnol, where transportation was not available, he said.

“Since Roshani enrolled in class 9 of the Mehgaon Girls’ Public School two years ago, she has had to cycle to school for several days due to the unavailability of other modes like taxis, “he said.

Mr. Bhadoriya said he would now make other transportation arrangements for her to go to school.

The farmer, who also has two sons, said that everyone in Ajnol was satisfied with her daughter’s achievement because no girl in the village had achieved such academic success.

When asked about her school trip experience, Roshani said, “It was difficult to go to school by bicycle. Although I did not count, I cycled for about 60 to 70 days a year to reach school. My father also took me to school on his motorbike whenever he had the time. “

The girl said that after returning home, she studied seven to eight hours a day.

Roshani said his goal was to pass the public service exams and become an IAS officer.

Harishchandra Sharma, director of the Mehgaon government’s girls’ school, appreciated the girl’s success and determination.
