Firing a fresh salvo at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lok Janshakti (LJP) party leader Chirag Paswan said on Wednesday that he and his Janata Dal (United) party had made preparations to drop out of the BJP and join Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) after the poll results are released.
“A single vote given to Nitish Kumar ji will not only weaken and ruin Bihar, but also strengthen the RJD and the Grand Alliance. He made preparations to leave the BJP and join the RJD after the elections. Also earlier, he has formed the government with the blessing of RJD, ”reads Paswan’s tweet roughly translated from Hindi.
“Bihar was infamous for the first 15 years. Bihar has been in bad shape for the past 15 years. But now, with all your blessings, we must make Bihari First and a government without Nitish. The LJP is challenging over seats than Nitish Kumar BJP- The LJP government will be formed after winning more seats than Nitish Kumar, ”he said in another tweet.
Voting began in 71 constituencies across 16 districts in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections on Wednesday at 7 a.m.
No less than 1,066 candidates are in the running, including 42 from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), 35 from Janata Dal (United), 29 from the BJP, 21 from Congress and 8 from left-wing parties.
Mr. Paswan also called on the population to come forward and exercise their right to vote.
