Jammu:
The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 58 packets of narcotics and two pistols after foiling an attempt to infiltrate Pakistan along the international border (IB) in Jammu, officials said on Sunday.
The offer of infiltration by suspected smugglers was scuttled in the Arnia area of the R S Pura sector overnight on Saturday and Sunday, a border guard official said.
He said troops at the border outpost at Budhwar and Bullechak observed suspicious movements of some Pakistanis close to the IB who tried to sneak in that side under cover of darkness.
The BSF opened fire and foiled their attempt, the official said.
During a thorough search of the area this morning, 58 packets of narcotics, two pistols, four magazines and ammunition were seized, he said.
