Ranchi:

The Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Yadav in a fodder scam case linked to Chaibasa’s treasury.

The case concerns fraudulent withdrawals in the amount of Rs 33.67 crore from the treasury of Chaibasa in undivided Bihar, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the chief minister.

The RJD leader, however, will have to remain in jail as he is serving time in another case related to the Dumka treasure.

The High Court asked Lalu Yadav to submit two personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each, and a fine of Rs 2 lakh which was granted by a special IWC court to secure his bond.

He also asked for his medical report and the details of anyone he met during his treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.

Previously, Lalu Yadav had secured a bond in the Deoghar treasury case.
