Kuwait appointed Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as its new emir on Tuesday, following the death of his half-brother Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at the age of 91.
“In accordance with the provisions of the constitution … the cabinet appeals to the Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Ahmad al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as the Emir of the State of Kuwait,” said the deputy. -Prime Minister Anas Khalid Al-Saleh in a televised address.
