New Delhi:

Kulbhushan Jadhav, Indian national sentenced to death in Pakistan – has been stressed and reported as much, India said today after authorities granted him access before the July 20 deadline to file a request for review . Officials did not have “unhindered, unhindered and unconditional access” to Mr. Jadhav, “the government also said.

It was the second time that Mr. Jadhav – sentenced to death for spying – was allowed to meet with Indian officials. The first consular access was granted in September 2019.

New Delhi said at the meeting that Pakistani officials “with intimidating behavior” were present despite protests from the Indian side.

“It was also evident from a visible camera that the conversation with Shri Jadhav was being recorded. Shri Jadhav himself was visibly stressed and made this clear to the consular officials. The arrangements did not allow a free conversation between them, “India told me.

“The consular officials could not bind Shri Jadhav on his legal rights and were prevented from obtaining his written consent to organize his legal representation,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
