Washington:
US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris said on Tuesday that President-elect Joe Biden had won the US presidential election decisively and alleged a “blatant attempt” to overthrow the will of the people.
“Joe Biden won decisively, with more votes than ever in American history. That equates to 75 million votes and counts, calling on the Supreme Court to see this case as it is,” Ms. Harris said , speaking in Wilmington, Delaware.
Too many people need to know what to do with it.
Biden, a former vice president, on his third attempt at the White House, defeated Trump in a hotly contested election to become the 46th President of the United States.
Washington’s four-decade figure received about 74 million votes, or 4 million more than the president.
Moments after Biden was cast as the winner of the US presidential election, Trump refused to concede defeat, saying the election was “far from over,” and promised legal challenges through his re-election campaign.
Trump’s campaign has filed several lawsuits to challenge the results in a few battlefield states after the president spent months spreading unsubstantiated allegations that postal ballots could open the election to fraud, reported The Hill.
