Jharkhand’s Health Minister Banna Gupta said on Tuesday he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Mr Gupta said he was tested for COVID-19 during the day and the report was positive.
“In recent days, everyone who has come in contact with me is urged to get your COVID-19 test taken,” he said in a tweet.
Mr. Gupta was present at the state cabinet meeting held earlier today and was seated with Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh, sources said.
Mr Gupta was showing symptoms of COVID-19 but he still attended the meeting, which is likely to force the entire cabinet, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, to quarantine themselves, they said. declared.

Meanwhile, AJSU party chairman Sudesh Mahto also said he tested positive for COVID-19.
Mr Mahto, who was tested after noticing certain symptoms, is currently in home quarantine.
“I urge the people of Jharkhand to strictly follow the standards of social distancing and take care of you and your loved ones,” he said in a tweet.
Mr. Mahto’s party was part of the previous government led by Raghubar Das. However, he broke ties ahead of last year’s national elections and fought alone, winning just two seats.
