New Delhi:

Former cricketer Irfan Pathan set to make his acting debut with a supporting role in upcoming Tamil film Cobra, whose cast is titled by Vikram. For Irfan Pathan’s birthday on October 27 Cobra Director Ajay Gnanamuthu shared his first look at the film as a special gift. “I wish you much more good feedback from the day, dear Irfan Pathan. Super happy to have met and worked with such a warm and caring person as you … I wish you the best in the year to come”, Ajay Gnanamuthu wrote for Irfan. The First Look poster features Irfan Pathan in an intense gaze – clad in black, he can be seen holding a gun. Irfan Pathan stars as a French Interpol officer named Yaslan Yimlaz in Cobra.

Earlier this year, the film crew had to cancel their halfway filming schedule in Russia due to the COVID-19-induced lockdown and travel restrictions. “Packing of the shoot in Russia halfway due to the travel ban rules imposed by the Indian government,” Ajay Gnanamuthu had tweeted.

After filming resumed, Irfan Pathan shared glimpses of his character from the film’s calendar in Calcutta:

In Cobra, It is said that Vikram appears in several avatars, a preview of which was shared in the movie’s first look poster in February. All of the characters played by Vikram – from politician to professor, will have a common bond.

The sci-fi thriller Cobra was originally scheduled to appear on screens in May 2020, which was inevitably delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Music for Cobra was composed by Oscar-winning music maestro A R Rahman.
