Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s determination to ensure that no one goes hungry during the coronavirus pandemic is commendable and reflects his commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas”, Interior Minister Amit Shah said Wednesday .
In a series of tweets, Shah expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the decision taken at a meeting of the Union cabinet to extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) until November, which will provide a ration for thousands of the poor.
“During the early days of the coronavirus crisis, the Prime Minister made the decision to provide three cylinders of LPG free to poor women for three months under the Ujjwala Yojana.”
“Many families were unable to take full advantage of the three cylinders, which extended the program until September. This would benefit 7.4 crores of women,” he said.
The Interior Minister said that the union cabinet’s approval of the “ Affordable Rental Housing Complex ” for urban migrants under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a historic move by the Modi government.
PMAY apartments built in cities will be made available to migrant workers at a lower cost, he said, thanking PM Modi for this decision, which will further strengthen the goal of “ housing for all ”.
Shah said that by reaffirming his commitment to the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas”, the Prime Minister has extended another very important program that addresses the cause of small business.
“The contribution to the EPF account was extended until August at today’s cabinet meeting. This decision by the Modi government will benefit around 72 lakh of small businesses,” he said.
Interior Minister said cabinet approval of Rs 1,00,000 crore “ Agricultural Infrastructure Fund ” will strengthen agricultural sector and reflect PM Modi’s commitment to full development of India rural.
It will give great impetus to the development of rural infrastructure, he said.
