Coronavirus Case India: The national COVID-19 recovery rate has further increased to 91.96%.

The number of new coronavirus cases reported in India in a 24-hour period fell below 40,000, bringing the country’s total COVID-19 to 82.67 lakh, while total recoveries crossed the 76 mark lakh, according to data from the Union Health Ministry updated on Tuesday.

Reaching a milestone in the fight against the coronavirus, active cases of COVID-19 in India have fallen below 5.5 lakh and now represent only 6.55% of total infections, with the number of recoveries crossing 76 lakh, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The slip in active cases is complemented by an exponential increase in recoveries, he said.

The total number of recoveries climbed to 76.03,121 and exceeds active cases of 70.61,716, the ministry said. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has further increased to 91.96%.

The ministry said new infections reported in one day fell below 40,000 as India saw a daily increase of 38,310 new cases on Tuesday. The country had reported 36,470 new cases in 24 hours until 8 a.m. on October 27.

Oxygen COVID-19 hospital beds released for other patients in Pune

With the number of coronavirus cases on the decline in Pune district, the local administration has

allowed private hospitals to use COVID-19 oxygen beds for the treatment of patients with other illnesses.

With 546 new cases on Tuesday, the count of COVID-19 in the Western District of Maharashtra rose to 3,25,212. In addition, 3,05,945 patients were released from hospitals, leaving 11,476 active cases in the district, officials said.

“With the drop in the number of COVID-19 cases and the improvement in the cure rate in the district, private hospitals have been allowed to use oxygenated COVID-19 beds for non-COVID-19 purposes,” said collector Rajesh Deshmukh.

By removing the 80:20 clause (COVID-19 and non-coronavirus patients), private hospitals have been asked to give a detailed plan on how they will manage these beds, he said.

Coronavirus testing center for departing passengers begins at Delhi Airport

A coronavirus testing facility for domestic and international departing passengers has started at Delhi Airport.
