The military said there had been no shooting or ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.

The military said reports it carried out strikes on Thursday were “based on analysis of ceasefire violations (CFVs) that took place on November 13. There was no shooting. nor CFV in the LoC today “.

In triggering a major surge, Pakistan resorted to heavy bombing on Friday in several areas along the LoC in northern Kashmir. Five Indian soldiers were killed in action and four civilians lost their lives.

The army then launched a major response, hitting several Pakistani positions with anti-tank guided missiles and artillery guns in which at least eight Pakistani soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded.

In recent weeks, the Pakistani military has aggressively targeted civilians along the LoC with indiscriminate fire using large caliber artillery to support the infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir, sources said. .

The sources said that targeted intelligence-based strikes are being carried out by the Indian military to neutralize mainly Pakistani and foreign terrorists, and the collateral damage has been very negligible in these operations.

A new model followed by Pakistan for “inciting” unrest and arming the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is to avoid all traces of its involvement due to growing international pressure on it to act against it. terrorist groups operating from its soil, sources said.

“Pakistan has sought to target Indian villagers to send a message to residents of the Kashmiri hinterland that disobeying Pakistani dictates and directives on terrorism will prove fatal,” a defense source said.

“The Pakistani army’s actions to exclusively target civilians are countered by the one-off strikes by the Indian army on alleged launch pads inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” the source said, adding that the Terrorists who died in Indian strikes in the region are shown as dead civilians by Pakistan.
