New Delhi:

India summons Chargé d’affaires of the Pakistan High Commission and lodged a strong protest against the murder of three civilians, including a child, in a ceasefire not caused by Pakistani forces in the Krishna Ghati sector Jammu and Kashmir, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) said.

He said India had strongly condemned the Pakistani action that took place on Friday evening.

Those killed were from one family, the government said, adding that a child was also injured in the unprovoked shootings.

“India condemns, in the strongest terms, the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by Pakistani forces. This year alone, 21 Indians were killed and 94 injured in more than 2,711 unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces, “said AEM.

“India has also protested Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorist infiltration into India, including support for the cover shots provided by Pakistani forces,” he said in a statement.

The EAJ said Pakistan was called upon to accede to the 2003 ceasefire agreement to maintain peace and tranquility along the line of control and the international border.
