New Delhi:
India said today that it totally rejects Chinese claims on the location of the actual Line of Control or LAC in Ladakh, recalling that Beijing’s 1959 claim had not been accepted un agreement.
India and China “pledged to clarify and confirm the LAC to reach a common agreement” and the Chinese side’s assertion that there is only one LAC is contrary to “solemn commitments “which she took,” the Foreign Ministry said today amid attempts to “unilaterally change the LAC.”
The process of delimiting the effective line of control could not continue “because the Chinese side has shown no willingness to continue,” the ministry said today in response to questions.
