The monsoon has been active in most parts of India and excess rainfall has been recorded in the country, said the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Mumbai and its surrounding areas have received moderate to heavy rain in the past 24 hours and intense intermittent showers are likely over the next 24 hours. The Santacruz meteorological office reported 30 mm and the Colaba station recorded 13 mm of precipitation.
According to IMD, the city of Mumbai has received 928 mm of rain so far during the monsoon, 26% more than normal average precipitation. at this time of year. It rained a lot at the Matheran station and neighboring Raigad received 93 mm of rain in 24 hours. The Thane weather office also recorded 74 mm of rain, IMD told PTI news agency.
While rainfall intensity has decreased slightly in Maharashtra, heavy rains have hit large parts of neighboring Gujarat. Monsoon remains “vigorous” and heavy to very heavy rains are likely in parts of Gujarat in the next three days and moderate rains in parts of Maharashtra, the office said.
In Rajkot, cattle were swept away by the floods in a village near Paddhari.

Due to heavy rainfall in Gujarat, a 30-year-old bridge over a river in Junagadh district collapsed yesterday. A team from the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) has been deployed to Khambhalia to respond to rain-related emergencies. Severe waterlogging has been reported in Dwarka.

In Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains and severe accumulations of water have been reported in several regions. Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Shahdol, Sagar, Rewa and Hoshangabad are likely to receive heavy rains, said IMD.

The monsoon covered the whole country before the forecast date and so far 12% more precipitation has been recorded.
