Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who chose the actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the delayed project Paani, tweeted on Wednesday that if the film is ever made, it will “dedicate it to the actor.” Shekhar Kapur, after Mr. Rajput’s death, tweeted that he had been “let down” by the film fraternity, after which politician Sanjay Nirupam alleged that the actor lost seven films he signed after the success of his 2019 film Chhichhore in just six months. Suspect Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14. The actor, 34, is said to have died by suicide. His film Paani was cast aside after Yash Raj Films, with whom he worked Shuddh Desi Romance and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, would have abandoned the project. Today, in a tweet on Wednesday, Shekhar Kapur said he would love to end the film someday, but only with partners who “walk in humility, not arrogance”.

Earlier, speaking to actor Manoj Bajpayee, who worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in Sonchiriya, during a live Instagram session, Shekhar Kapur revealed that when Paani was sidelined, Sushant was “devastated” and he “cried a lot”.
In 2017, during a masterclass at the Indian International Film Festival, Shekhar Kapur explained why Paani was special to him. “I was devastated because I was passionate about the project. I had it with me for 15 years. I had been working there for so long. It was exhausting, it was art. It wasn’t like it’s not that, I’m going to do something When I saw Sushant, I felt it was him, ”the director said during the masterclass, reported the PTI news agency.
