An iconic dialogue from the Bollywood film – “Sholay” – put a cop in Madhya Pradesh in trouble. A show cause notice was sent to the police station which was filmed shouting dialogue over a loudspeaker as it patrolled in Jhabua district, about 300 km from the state capital, Bhopal. .
KL Dangi, the policeman who was seen in the clip which was shared widely on social media, is the manager of the Kalyanpura Police Station in Jhabua District in Madhya Pradesh.
In the 15-second video, Mr. Dangi is seen saying a modified version of the popular “So ja beta nahi to Gabbar aa jayega” (Sleep my son, or Gabbar will come) talking from a megaphone mounted on his police jeep.
“Kalyanpura is 50-50 km ki duri by jab bachcha rotaa hai in maa kehti hai chup ho ja beta nahi in Dangi aa jayega. (When a child cries even up to 50 km from Kalyanpura, their mothers tell them to go to sleep or Dangi will come), ”the cop said.

The dialogue was originally delivered in the 1975 Bollywood hit film Sholay by legendary actor Amzad Khan.
According to officials, a show cause notice was sent to the cop.
“A video of Dangi has gone viral on the Internet. A show cause notice has been sent to him. Further action will be taken in the case after a preliminary investigation,” said Anand Singh, a senior police official.
