Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, in an interview with GalacticGaming’s Rohit Khilnani, explained the tweets he recently posted about actress Kangana Ranaut, repeating that they were friends and that he was trying to play the role of peacemaker between Kangana and actress Taapsee Pannu. Mr Kashyap, who ran Taapsee in Manmarziyaan and produced Kangana’s Queen, used his Twitter account to comment on the Kangana vs Taapsee-Swara Bhasker controversy that flared up over the weekend after Kangana called Taapsee and Swara off “B-quality actresses” on national television. Anurag Kashyap took on the role of Taapsee and Swara, like other members of the film fraternity; in a tweet he said that he and Kangana Ranaut were once friends but no longer knew “the new Kangana”.
Speaking to GalacticGaming, Anurag Kashyap reiterated that Kangana had been a “close friend”. Friendship appears to have deteriorated after Mr Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu mocked a question about Kangana Ranaut in an old interview while promoting Manmarziyaan in 2018. “Kangana was hurt by it,” Anurag Kashyap said, adding, “I say okay, if it hurts you, I will apologize.
