New Delhi:

Ahead of the third and final phase of the poll in Bihar on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote an open letter to residents of the state, telling them that he needs the Nitish Kumar government for the development of Bihar.

“I need the government of Nitish Kumar in Bihar to ensure that the development of the state does not derail and fail,” Prime Minister Modi wrote in his four-page letter in Hindi.

The prime minister said votes are polled in Bihar not on the basis of caste, but for development. “Votes are not cast for false promises but for strong (political) will / intentions. Not for bad governance, but for good governance. Not for corruption, but for honesty. Not for bad governance. opportunism, but for self-reliance. I am convinced of the development of Bihar “, reads the letter, which was tweeted by the Prime Minister’s Twitter account.

The power of a “twin-engine government” – a reference to the ruling JDU-BJP coalition in the state – will help Bihar reach new heights of development this decade, the prime minister said.

The prime minister, completely focusing on state development in the letter, said that only the NDA can provide better infrastructure, a rule of law imperative for the social and economic prosperity of Bihar.

“NDA has worked in all sectors of Bihar – electricity, water, roads, health, education and for law and order,” the letter said.

“The people of Bihar are eagerly awaiting the ‘Swamitva Yojana’ (property plan). These powerful plans will empower the common man and help them lead a dignified life,” he added.

The letter arrived minutes before the end of the campaign for the final round of voting today. Bihar will vote on Saturday in the third phase, covering 78 constituencies spread across 19 districts in northern Bihar.

The Prime Minister has organized 12 rallies for the elections, the results of which will be announced on Tuesday.

Nitish Kumar, who is seeking a fourth consecutive term as chief minister, said today it would be his last election.
