Bhopal:
Lawsuits are expected to be brought against Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath for alleged violation of the Covid-19 protocol, Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered. The court asked the district magistrates of Gwalior and Datia to ensure the recording of the first information reports on the matter.
Advocate General Purshendra Kaurav was invited to report on compliance on the matter on October 23, the next hearing date.
While issuing this order, a division bench in Gwalior also asked magistrates in the nine districts under its jurisdiction not to give permission to any candidate or political party to hold public gatherings.
Authorization can only be given if the political party or the candidate is able to convince the magistrate that a virtual electoral campaign is not possible in the situation and that he passes a speaking order, recording the reasons for which it is satisfactory.
Even in such a case, a rally can only be allowed after the political party or candidate has “deposited money with the district magistrate, which is enough to buy double the number of masks and disinfectants. necessary to protect and sanitize the number of people expected in the congregation, ”reads the order.
In its order, the court also said that the candidate must file an “undertaking on affidavit that he will be personally responsible for distributing masks and disinfectants to all members of the congregation before the start of the meeting / congregation.”
A maximum number of 27 seats will be available for the by-elections in Madhya Pradesh next month. A portion of the seats fell vacant in the state in March as Jyotiraditya Scindia switched sides from Congress to BJP with his followers.
