Bombay:
The city and its suburb have witnessed heavy rains for the past 24 hours and their intensity increased early in the morning today, due to the continued downpour, waterlogging has been reported in some low areas and traffic is diverted . Moderate to heavy rains were forecast by the meteorological office for the day.
“Mumbai and the surrounding area have received moderate to heavy rains over the past 24 hours. Most of it has been since early morning …” tweeted KS Hosalikar, deputy director of meteorology, India Department of Meteorology, Mumbai.
The latest satellite image “points to a cloudy area near Mumbai,” Hosalikar said.
Mumbai and around the mod recd to heavy rain in the last 24 hours. Most of these events have happened since early morning with the thunder heard. Colaba’s lateral intensity remained high with ~ 60+ mm RF.

Water exploration has been reported from Hindmata, Dadar and a few other areas. The Colaba weather station recorded more than 60mm of precipitation while Santa Cruz recorded 100mm in the past 24 hours, according to the meteorological office.
