A draft ordinance providing for a 75% reserve in private sector jobs for the residents of Haryana has been filed with the State Cabinet. The quota was promised by Jannayak Janata party leader Dushyant Chautala before the 2019 state assembly elections. His newly formed party won 10 seats and then formed an alliance with the BJP, which had become the biggest party.
