Chandigarh:
A bill providing for a 75% reservation for private sector jobs in Haryana has been passed by the State Assembly.
The Haryana State Local Applicant Employment Bill will require private companies, partnership companies, corporations, trusts and other such organizations based in the state to reserve three quarters of jobs with a salary below Rs 50,000 per month.
The bill, however, also contains an exemption clause which can be invoked if suitable local candidates are not available for a particular category of industry.
Booking private jobs was a poll promise from Dushyant Chautala’s JJP during the assembly elections in October last year. Mr. Chautala, who is also the state labor minister, introduced the bill to the Assembly today.
