Congress declared that Gujarat has become “the epicenter of Chinese investment in India”.

New Delhi:

Congress said on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hometown of Gujarat has become “the epicenter of Chinese investment in India” and said it could not continue as usual with China after his forces killed 20 Indian soldiers.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said that Gujarat has signed three major memoranda of understanding in the past five years, involving an investment of 43,000 rupees, which includes an industrial park for Chinese SMEs ( small and medium enterprises).

He said business has not stopped in the past 20 days and that cargo flights continue to operate between the two countries.

“There can be no status quo with the country, which transgresses our territory, to protect what our brave hearts sacrifice their lives. These are questions to which the Prime Minister must answer and answer,” he asked during of a virtual press conference.

Pawan Khera said that there are different methods of putting pressure on a “hostile” nation and that since Gujarat has experienced record investment from China, “now is the time to use that pressure”.

“Gujarat has become the epicenter of Chinese investment in India … On the one hand, our brave army pushes back the PLA from the Ladakh border and on the other hand, the PSUs (public sector companies) continue to give contracts to Chinese companies (…) We see that Gujarat is becoming the hub of Chinese investment. We see that the process of Chinese investment in Gujarat is continuing, “he said.

The head of the Congress said that the Prime Minister would therefore be asked to say if he “had a particular fondness for China”.

“We grant him that, we have no problem, he has invested in the relationship for two decades, we understand that, provided the country’s borders remain secure, the country’s economy remains safe from China “, did he declare.
