Jaipur:

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday dismissed the allegation of his involvement in a Rajasthan credit company scam as a “political conspiracy” and took a hit on Congress, claiming that leaders of a party whose central leadership was “on bail” left after him.

A state municipal court has asked Rajasthan police to investigate a complaint alleging Mr. Shekhawat’s involvement in a credit company scam.

The development comes amid allegations by Congress that the minister, a top state BJP leader, is involved in an attempt to overthrow the Ashok Gehlot government.

Mr Shekhawat told reporters: “There is a political conspiracy behind all this. Relate the recent incidents. The question will be clear to you in a while as to how and why some people joined forces and with what motive for doing so. hatch such a conspiracy. “

The case has already been reviewed earlier and a charge sheet has been filed, he said, adding that if the court orders another investigation then it will be done.

Referring to some alleged audio clips linked to alleged efforts to overthrow the state government, Mr Shekhawat said he had also been targeted by “fake” audio tapes.

“When members of a party whose entire central leadership is on bail make such allegations, then people can see everything and understand everything,” he said.

The BJP leader said Mr. Gehlot and some other congressional leaders were throwing mud at him in their “frustration” over the feud and disintegration in their own party.

Taking a glance at Mr. Gehlot for his remarks that he should not be blamed if the people gherao the Raj Bhawan, he said the statement is “lawless” and not suitable for a person in constitutional office .

Mr Gehlot accused Governor Kalraj Mishra of acting under pressure not to call a meeting.

The chief minister urged the governor to decide on the basis of his conscience.

Otherwise, he added, they “would not be responsible” if the people of the state gherao the Raj Bhawan.
