A fire broke out early this morning in a Borivali shopping center in Mumbai. At least 14 fire trucks were rushed to the scene to put out the fire.
There have been no reports of casualties so far, officials said.
Fire chief Prabhat Rahangdale said the fire was contained in the basement of the building.
“We deployed a robot to contain the fire. Fourteen fire trucks and 13 large tank trucks are used to put out the fire,” he said.
The security official at the complex said the fire started due to a short circuit in one of the stores in the shopping complex.

Ventilation work is undertaken on the site with the help of JCB by removing the side grilles from the basement.
Last month, a fire was reported at the office of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait in the Nariman Point area, south of Mumbai. In another incident, a level two fire was reported last month in a few stores in the iconic Crawford market.
