Emirates airline said on Sunday it would operate repatriation flights from four other Indian cities of Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata to Dubai until July 26.
The Dubai-based airline announced on July 11 that it would operate special repatriation flights from Bengaluru, Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between July 12 and 26.
The airline will now operate repatriation flights to Dubai from a total of nine Indian cities until July 26.
In a press release Sunday, the airline said repatriation flights between Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram and Dubai are allowed to carry eligible passengers in both directions.
However, flights from Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata to Dubai “will only carry passengers to India,” the airline said. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said on July 9 that India and the United Arab Emirates had reached a bilateral agreement – also known as an air bubble – under which the airlines of the two countries would operate international flights carrying eligible passengers.
