“The monopolies are wrong,” Elon Musk tweeted, tagging Bezos, the richest man in the world.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., said it was “time to break Amazon” in a tweet Thursday, intensifying rivalry with Amazon.com Inc. CEO Jeff Bezos, another billionaire investing in the space exploration.

“The monopolies are wrong,” Musk tweeted, tagging Bezos, the richest man in the world. The online retailer is one of the technology companies examined by federal regulators and legislators for the growing size and scope of its business.

Musk’s message came in response to a tweet from a writer who said that his book “Unreported Truths About COVID-19 and The Lockdown” had been removed from Amazon’s Kindle publishing division for violation of non-directive specified.

An Amazon spokesperson said the book was deleted in error and is being reinstated. “We have informed the author,” she said in an email.

Last year, an official from Space Exploration Technologies Corp. said Amazon’s efforts to build a constellation of broadband Internet satellites were several years behind the closed company. Musk founded SpaceX eight years before Bezos launched rival manufacturer Blue Origin.

With over 35 million followers, Musk is a prolific tweeter. He has been criticized in the past for his publications on various topics ranging from the coronavirus epidemic to Tesla’s action.
