Aurangabad:
A hoarding of the Amitabh Bachchan megastar with a famous dialogue from the 1978 blockbuster “Don” on coronavirus awareness has been removed from a village in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra due to the “feelings” of its fans, said on Saturday a manager.
The hoarding with an old photo of Mr. Bachchan carried a message to Marathi asking people to stay indoors in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Referring to the dialogue in the film, the message reads as follows: “the gift whose capture was not only difficult but impossible, was caught by a coronavirus … stay at home for your families and do not try unnecessarily to become a “gift” “”.
Gajanan Shinde, chief officer of Lohara Nagar Panchayat, said, “We designed this banner to raise awareness and display the coronavirus. But by caring for the feelings of Amitabh Bachchan fans here, we removed it.”
Mr. Bachchan, 77, his actor son Abhishek (44) and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are on treatment for COVID-19 in a hospital in Mumbai.
