The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday announced the dates for the biennial election to the Legislative Council of Bihar in four constituencies of graduates and four teachers.

The vote will take place on October 22 and the count will take place on November 12.

An ECI press note said on Friday: “The tenure of 8 members of Bihar’s Legislative Council from graduate and teacher constituencies became vacant on May 6, 2020, due to the retirement of incumbent members. . “

The name of the constituency and the name of the MP retirement date on May 6, 2020 is: Patna Graduates ” – Neeraj Kumar, Darbhanga Graduates ” – Dilip Kumar Choudhary, Tirhut Graduates ” – Devesh Chandra Thakur, Kosi Graduates ” – Dr NK Yadav, Patna Teachers ” – Naval Kishore Yadav, Darbhanga Teachers ” – Dr Madan Mohan Jha, Tirhut Teachers ” -Sanjay Kumar Singh and Saran Teachers ” – Kedar Nath Panday.

According to the press release, the Commission, after considering the contributions received from the CEO, Bihar decided that the biennial election to the Bihar State Legislative Council of the constituencies of graduates and teachers, will be held in accordance with the following schedule : notification 28 September, last date for submitting applications 5 October, examination of applications 6 October, last date for withdrawal of applications -8 October, date of the ballot – 22 October, polling time – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Counting of votes – November 12, date before which the election must be completed – November 14.

“The model code of conduct for these elections will enter into force with immediate effect in the constituencies concerned,” the press release added.
