Washington:
US President Donald Trump has spent a restful night and continues to do very well, his doctor said on Tuesday, a day after leaving a military hospital where he was being treated for coronavirus.
“Feel good,” Trump said in a tweet.
“This morning the President’s team of doctors met him at the residence. He had a restful first night at home, and today he is not reporting any symptoms,” said Dr Sean Conley, doctor of the White House, in a memorandum.
“Vital signs and physical examination remain stable with an ambulatory saturation level of 95 to 97 percent. Overall, he continues to do very well,” said Dr. Conley.
Trump, 74, and First Lady Melania tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday evening. The president was taken to a military hospital for treatment, which the White House said was considered “a matter of plenty of prudence.”
He had not had a fever since Friday, his doctors said on Monday. The First Lady continues to do well.
According to media reports, to date, nearly 30 White House employees and at least three journalists have tested positive for COVID-19.
The most important of them is White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Vice President Mike Pence, who is due to appear in a debate on Wednesday, remains in good health without any symptoms of COVID-19, according to a separate memorandum released by White House doctor Dr Jesse Schonau.
Trump in another tweet said he looked forward to the debate with Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate in Miami, on October 15.
“I look forward to the debate on Thursday, October 15 in Miami. It will be great!” said the president.
The president in a series of tweets criticized his opponent, including heavily criticizing Miami City Hall a day earlier from Biden who was hosted by NBC News. He described it as a joke.
“What a shame for our country that FREE public airwaves can be used this way. All SOFTBALLS. Big fix. Time should be paid for by the corrupt DNC!” Said the president.
