Washington, United States:

A Republican senator told voters President Donald Trump “kisses the butt of dictators,” mistreats women and uses the White House as a business, according to a leaked phone call recording.

Nebraska Senator Sasse said Trump was “obsessed with television” and “narcissistic,” driven American allies to China and deeply damaged the Republican Party.

Assaulting “the way he kisses the butt of dictators,” Sasse accused Trump of ignoring the oppression of Uyghurs by China and the Hong Kong democracy movement.

“He has not lifted a finger on behalf of Hong Kong people,” he said.

“It’s not just that he fails to lead our allies, it’s that the United States regularly sells our allies under his leadership.”

Sasse also said Trump “spends like a drunken sailor” and pokes fun at Evangelical Christians, a major Republican electoral group, behind closed doors, while targeting “the way he treats women.”

“His family treated the presidency as a business opportunity. He flirted with white supremacists,” he continued.

Sasse, who is running for office, said on the phone call that he had never been a supporter of the president, and warned that Trump’s “likely” loss in the Nov. 3 election could also end to the Republican control of the Senate.

“I’m now looking at the possibility of a Republican bloodbath in the Senate, and that’s why I’ve never been on the Trump train,” he said.

He also said Trump never treated the Covid-19 crisis seriously, only as a news cycle issue.

But he also used his comments to warn against supporting Democrats, saying Trump “is leading the country further to the left.”

He argued that Democratic control of Congress and the White House would threaten religious freedom and erosion of other rights, and that in 10 years, the US Supreme Court would be “like Venezuela.”

And he warned that Trump could lead young people and women permanently to the Democratic Party.

In that case, he said, Republicans will ask themselves, “What did we think, that selling a narcissistic, television-obsessed individual to the American people was a good idea?”
