As the United States watches a tight presidential race, Donald Trump and Joe Biden expressed confidence in victory with their eleventh hour tweets.
Mr. Trump, 74, is seeking reelection for the second consecutive term in a highly polarized election. He tweeted in his signature capital letters as the vote began to close: “WE ARE REALLY GOOD IN THE COUNTRY. THANKS! (Sic)”

Joe Biden, who was at home with his family in Delaware, urged voters to “stay in line.” “If you line up at your polling station before it closes, you can vote,” he tweeted.

Hours earlier, the 77-year-old had urged Americans to have their votes counted. “My friends, time is running out to make your voice heard in this election … Every moment of the past four years boils down to today.”
In another tweet, he said: “Now is our time to prove that: Love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear. Light is more powerful than darkness. Today ‘Today, this is your absolute last chance to vote in this election. “
Throughout the day, Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden were on their way to continue meeting with party workers and urging people to vote.
Before returning home to Delaware, Mr Biden had met with voters in the crucial state of Pennsylvania to make an 11th hour appeal to voters. “Let’s win this thing, Pennsylvania!” he tweeted, with a video of him wearing a mask and talking to people.
Mr Trump, who had visited his campaign headquarters in Virginia, tweeted: “Get out there and vote! Under my administration, our ECONOMY is growing at the fastest rate EVER at 33.1%. Next year will be the BIGGEST YEAR. ECONOMIC of American history! (Sic) “

More than 100 million Americans, a record, had voted before election day due to the coronavirus pandemic, by mail and by early in-person voting.
