Washington:
President Donald Trump is “fine” and will continue to perform his duties “without interruption” while quarantining himself with the first lady, after both testing positive for the coronavirus, the president’s doctor said on Friday.
They “are both doing well right now and they plan to stay at home in the White House while they recover,” Dr. Sean Conley said in a statement.
“I expect the President to continue in office without interruption while recovering.”

Trump said on Friday morning that he and First Lady Melania had tested positive for the coronavirus.
“Tonight @FLOTUS and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will go through it together!” Trump tweeted.

On Friday, the White House called off its planned campaign rally in the crucial state of Florida.
Just 32 days before the Nov. 3 election against Democrat Joe Biden and behind in the polls, it also seemed certain that Trump would have to cancel a series of other trips scheduled for this weekend and next week.
The news shock came just after one of Trump’s closest advisers, Hope Hicks, was reported to have caught the virus on Thursday.
Hicks traveled with Trump to Cleveland for his first debate with Biden on Tuesday. She was with him again for a campaign rally in Minnesota on Wednesday.
As Hicks shared Trump’s Air Force One plane and the even tighter confines of the Marine One helicopter, speculation immediately erupted that Trump and possibly many other members of his close entourage had been exposed.
Trump was giving an interview on Fox News Thursday night when he confirmed Hicks’ news and said he had been tested.
