Washington:
President Donald Trump has paid a power of attorney to take a standardized college entrance exam for him when he was a high school student, writes his niece in a revealing book to be released next week.
In the book “Too much and never enough: How my family created the most dangerous man in the world“, Mary Trump writes that Trump paid someone to take the SAT, an entrance exam used by most universities in its place, according to The New York Times.
“The high score the attorney obtained for him,” said Ms. Trump, “helped young Mr. Trump gain access later as an undergraduate student to the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania,” reports the Times, citing a manuscript from the book.
White House senior advisor Kellyanne Conway, when interviewed on Tuesday about the book, told White House reporters that it was a family affair.
“He’s not his patient, he’s his uncle,” said Conway, apparently referring to Mary Trump’s degree in clinical psychology. “I think family matters are family matters.”
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Tuesday: “It’s a book of lies and that’s it.”
The College Board, which administers the SAT test, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
