Washington, United States:
President Donald Trump appointed Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Saturday, choosing a strong Tory to replace late Liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Trump called Barrett, who stood by his side in the White House rose garden, “one of the brightest and most gifted lawyers.”
With Republicans almost certain to confirm Barrett, Trump may have been able to tip the High Court to the right on the eve of his difficult reelection attempt.
