Washington:

President Donald Trump said on Friday that a curfew that was in place in Tulsa the day before his first campaign rally since the start of the coronavirus pandemic has been lifted.

“I have just spoken with the highly respected mayor of Tulsa, GT Bynum, who informed me that there will be no curfew tonight or tomorrow for our many supporters participating in the #MAGA rally”, Trump tweeted.

“Have fun – thanks to Mayor Bynum!”

The curfew, which came into effect Thursday evening as protests turned violent, covered the area of downtown Tulsa around the BOK Center arena where Trump is scheduled to speak on Saturday.

It was to remain in force until Sunday morning, with a break in the day on Saturday.
